Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3: Bringas Brothers
Brothers Kurt and Jefferson Bringas, acoustic singers/musicians from Bansalan, Davao Del Sur, joined the Mindanao audition for Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 3, the premiere telecast of which aired Saturday, July 9, on ABS-CBN.
The life story of Bringas Brothers is, so far, one of the most-touching, most-inspiring stories we've ever heard on Pilipinas Got Talent in its entirety.
Kurt is a stage-4 cancer patient and at 19, his left leg got a below-the-knee amputation. The disease spread over his body and even affected his liver and lungs. The doctor told him that his was a hopeless case and had 1 month only to live, but he miraculously survived. He is now 25-years-old.
Jefferson, on the other hand, had a girfriend whom he wanted to marry. For some reason, the relationship was tested and he had to make a choice between his girlfriend and brother. Jefferson gave up his GF and chose Kurt.
“Nagdasal ako kay Lord na sana maging akin siya pero no'ng nagkasakit ang kapatid ko...sinabi ko kay Lord na Lord kahit di mo na siya ibigay, buhayin mo lang ang kapatid ko," Jefferson told Kris when the celebrity judge dug their story.
It was indeed a 'sacrifice' for the love of family.
Kurt and Jefferson Bringas performed an acoustic version of Peter Cetera's “After All” and, upon judges' request for a Tagalog song, did the “Green Rose” theme song, “Bumuhos Man ang Ulan.”
